The weekend
The stock has been hovering around $.22 - $.24 and I want to get in at $.22. With the volume so dry lately is definately a waiting game to get in but hopefully something will come around soon. To go and just place an order for 40,000+ shares would get me in maybe 1,000 at $.23 and the rest at $.24 I'd guess (with orders showing as of 11:42 AM). I have a limit order to buy 45,000 shares at $.22 that has not be filled yet. This weekend I will most likely not post, and early next week I will be out of town. I get back Wednesday so at the latest check for a post Thursday. I apoligize for the lack of activity in the blog this week and hopefully I will relay a position to you next week. Have a great weekend and always

Blain, hope you have some good luck with the trade you are trying to pull off! I sure you are aware of the risk, but if everything went well, you could really make a large increase to the 10k. Have you had any more progress with that program that you and your brother were working on?

haha thanks man. Nothing too big in regards to the program. We have another meeting this Wednesday and an operable version of it may be available so that is pretty cool. I come home tomorrow so it'll be interesting to see what the market is up to. Hope all is well man,

Yeah, I am hanging in there! Its kind of annoying, I always seem to do better in investing contests than in real life. I think it is because I have to get over my fear of losing money in real life, any thoughts? In regards to what I am up to is finishing up school (It seems to be taking forever!) I am working on getting a new recycling collection center in Muskegon, so hopefully I will be able to present in person pretty soon here. I have decided that I want to get a few centers set up before I work on the complex recycling service, my reason is that even though I know there would be more money here, I am not as experenced so it would take a little longer to get going. Hopefully I can get that taken care of this summer and start building this into more a business! Have a good one.

Blain, whats up man. I was just looking at TGC and I realized that it is trading at less than 10% of its 3 month average. I am sure you already knew this but I was wondering why is that? Also, I was looking at short % and I was curious, what does this mean, "Short % of Float (as of 9-May-05): 9.86%" I am guessing it means that of all the shares being traded 9.86% of them are being traded by people that are betting the stock will go down. I remember you saying that, I think 6%, was normal? I know I ask alot of questions, but at least I am getting away from the "whats a limit order?" that I was asking only like two months ago. Thanks again man!

PS, the stock I was looking at for the short % was Elan Pharma (ELN)

Good question man. The average is high because randomly the stock will have 1 million + share days. Other days like recently it trades almost nothing. This is basically just inconsistency. Being a penny stock this isn't uncommon; it USUALLY doesn't have too much of a tell-tale meaning.
"What does this mean, "Short % of Float (as of 9-May-05): 9.86%""
What that means is that 9.86% of the float (which is total shares less restricted or basically untradable shares) is being shorted. So, for a basic sense let's say that there are 100,000 shares in the float. Well with our 9.86% short that means that of those 100,000 shares, 9,860 shares are actually being shorted (or are borrowed shares from an institution) and will eventually have to be covered.
Awesome questions man and thanks for the PS!
